tuxedo kamen first appears as the mysterious man who gives encouraging words to sailormoon and the other senshi. he then develops further, his identity being mamoru, a man in his second year of college, who usagi does *not* get along with.. until they realize their destiny as queen and king of crystal tokyo.

mamoru seems cold at first appearances, and that he is. although he can be caring at times, it's easier for him not to say much. he loves usagi, even if he doesn't really show it sometimes. in the manga, he is a MUCH nicer man. he's more kind, sensitive, and caring. i like him a lot better!

mamoru has a very sad past. when he was a young boy, his parents were killed in a car accident, and he himself was injured. he once told usagi she kept him from being very lonely. mamo-chan has an air of mystery around him, because the injuries he sustained in the car accident left a few pieces missing from his past.

in the first half of sailormoonR, mamoru lost his identity as tuxedo kamen, and became quite cold and mean. but even while he was changed, his love for usagi lived on, in the form of the tsukage no knight. (if my japanese spelling is off, sorry.. translation: moonlight knight) he was just like tuxedo.kamen... giving his pep speeches to the senshi. eventually, both sides of him went back together, making him like normal.
